FAIRWAYiQ, the golf industry leader in golf course management analytics and technology, has been named the Exclusive Golf Course Analytics & GPS Tracking Partner of the “PGA Magazine - PGA General Manager Program” immediately.  The program provides the ability for PGA General Managers to obtain content most relevant for General Managers of private, public, and resort golf course facilities throughout the United States while earning PGA of America Educational MSR required credits.

“The primary purpose of the program is for like-minded PGA General Managers to share ideas from a variety of backgrounds, memberships, and overall operations,” says Rick Summers, CEO of PGA Magazine.  “The content developed for this group will be provided through weekly emails, a monthly digital publication, monthly virtual meetings, in-person networking, and larger national event gatherings.”

“We are honored to be participating in this exciting program and look forward to contributing greatly to its success.” explains Dave Vanslette, Founder and CEO at FAIRWAYiQ, “Our deep experience in golf course technology, analytics, and GPS will help this group further their knowledge on how data and technology can help with the industry labor shortages.  Analytics and automation are a way to combat these labor shortages and reduce costs while improving the player experience.”

PGA Magazine has worked with FAIRWAYiQ for over 6 years.  Their dedication to innovation has benefited the industry and will only heighten the educational opportunities for program participants,” says Rick Summers.

“I look forward to personally being a part of this program.  FAIRWAYiQ has always put customer needs as a priority and this will be an opportunity to learn more about industry needs and educate on golf course analytics technology.  The golf industry has traditionally been behind other industries in technology in general, but there has been a huge change over the past two years in particular.  Education will play a role in advancing technology and bringing the golf industry up to par with the rest of the hospitality industry,” says Dave Vanslette.  “FAIRWAYiQ is looking forward to being at the center of this change, which programs like the PGA Magazine PGA General Manager Program will accelerate.”

FAIRWAYiQ Announces Golf Cart “Player Check-in” to Upgrade Integration to Tee Sheet Providers

January 23, 2024 – Waltham, MA

FAIRWAYiQ’s, the leading AI and Automation provider for the golf industry, has introduced Player Check-in. This innovative feature will be released in May on their in-cart GPS screen application, to make it easier for staff to manage carts and to take the friction out of the golfing experience.

“Managing a golf operation is no small task” says Dave Vanslette, Founder of FAIRWAYiQ, “In the golf industry, finding software applications that seamlessly work together can be a challenge.  We have integrated with over a dozen tee sheet providers to enhance the efficiency of golf operations. Our ultimate goal is to improve the overall staff and player experience by finding ways to add greater value through integration with other software products.”

"At FAIRWAYiQ, we track player behavior during golf rounds. While our tee sheet integration simplifies player assignment to carts, we wanted to make it even easier," explains Chuck Rogers, the Director of Customer Success at FAIRWAYiQ. "Since golf cart keys are universal, our golf operations team couldn't predictably assign carts when players checked in at the shop. To address this, we decided to extract information from the tee sheet and allow players to sign in on the cart screen. This way, our staff knows who takes which cart, ensuring accountability and improving service. Surprisingly, we discovered that this approach had never been implemented before."

"Labor remains scarce and costly. By combining AI and automation with labor, we can deliver the ultimate player experience in a cost-effective manner," says Dave Vanslette. "Delivering technology solutions for the golf operation has never been more thrilling. Our team is more excited than ever before, even compared to when I first started the business over 9 years ago."

"We were thrilled when FAIRWAYiQ approached us to collaborate on their mobile and cart screen roadmap. As passionate golfers and tech enthusiasts, our team is incredibly excited to revolutionize cart screen and mobile player applications," says Sawyer Billings, Co-Founder of Fullsend Solutions. "Just like Steve Jobs used to say, 'and oh, one more thing.' We eagerly anticipate surprising the golfing community with our innovations."

FAIRWAYiQ Announces Smart Play Through for Cart Screen Application

January 17, 2024 – Waltham, MA

FAIRWAYiQ, the leading AI and Automation provider for the golf industry, has introduced Smart Play Through. This innovative feature is now available on their in-cart GPS screen application, revolutionizing the golfing experience..

"FAIRWAYiQ leverages the power of artificial intelligence and automation to ensure golfers can complete rounds in just 4 hours," explains Dave Vanslette, the Founder of FAIRWAYiQ. "While allowing groups to play through is a common practice to maintain the pace of play, it can sometimes lead to challenges."

"Our product team analyzed the data and made an interesting discovery: during peak times at the golf course, playing through leads to more issues. This prompted us to ask ourselves: why not give players the ability to see the traffic ahead?," explains Chuck Rogers, the director of customer success at FAIRWAYiQ. "It was an obvious decision, especially considering we have access to comprehensive traffic data for the entire golf course.”

"Many golf facilities do not have full-time staff on the course, so providing more information to players becomes crucial," explains Dave Vanslette. "Imagine having a cart screen that functions like Waze in your car, displaying what lies ahead. Players can then decide whether to proceed or skip a few holes, allowing them to make it to their kid's soccer game on time. By recognizing the value of players' time and offering a self-service solution, facilities can enhance the overall experience without incurring additional labor costs."

FAIRWAYiQ Announces Customer Reinvestment Program to Avoid Price Increases

January 18, 2023 – Waltham, MA

FAIRWAYiQ, the golf industry leader in golf cart, caddie, and walker GPS technology for proactive pace of play management and to protect the turf from cart traffic, announced a customer reinvestment program to avoid price increases in 2023.

“Despite golf’s growth over the past few years, the current inflationary environment has impacted many golf courses, clubs and communities negatively.” says Dave Vanslette, Founder of FAIRWAYiQ, “We were scratching our heads thinking ‘how can we help customers offset other expense increases by not raising our prices?’  The current economic environment is challenging for FAIRWAYiQ and our costs are increasing too.”

“FAIRWAYiQ has established a well-respected reputation over the past 8 years.  Our technology adds so much value to our customers.  We want to help more customers save money on labor, reduce the pace of play and decrease turf replacement costs.”, says Chuck Rogers, general manager at FAIRWAYiQ.  “The goal is clear.  We need to keep prices level and not raise them.  This will help the golf industry.”

“Given customer buying habits that changed due to COVID, we see more customers comfortable buying over the internet and through web meetings.  In-person trade shows are more optional as well.” adds Dave Vanslette, “Ultimately, we decided not to exhibit at the PGA Show in 2023 and instead reinvest that spend into customer pricing.  We want FAIRWAYiQ’s technology to remain affordable.  It was a difficult decision since we will miss the PGA Show and spending time with industry peers, but it’s the right thing to do.  Our goal is to be a good steward of resources.”
